This Madhuvan has it all

I realized after listening to it a lot over the past few weeks that I kind of underrated this Madhuvan. I still prefer GR for pure visceral thrill, but this is a great Madhuvan. I love this Modern, but I give Madhuvan the edge.

Another Madhuvan thatβs far too overrated. It sounds like a bad acid trip on Halloween with a side of cocaine. Sure itβs thrilling the first time but I only need to watch a horror movie once.
This is arguably the best Big Modern theyβve played to date. Easy choice for me

Big Modern gets a little interesting at the end, but otherwise not sure I'll ever listen to it again.
Easy vote for Madhuvan.

This Madhuvan is on a wholeeeeeee nother level. Absolute fuckin ripper of a jam. The Big Modern its up against ain't no slouch by any means, super fun glorious peak and Moby-esq cooldown jam (how did they not -> Moby after this?!) but there aren't many jams in this tournament I'd take over the Madhuvan right here.

This was a close one for me, so I'm kind of surprised to see such a lopsided vote.
I voted BM cuz I love a good BM.
But, can't argue with this Mad moving on.

Looking back itβs really interesting to compare the Feb Madhuvans. They are both top tier jams but to my ear very different from one another. Once the song ends the band goes through several minutes of some eerie sounds and then Rick and Trevor lock into this awesome metal phrase that soon the entire band builds and builds and just explodes in a way that makes you want to run through the nearest wall. It never goes as deep Into the depths of evil as the GR mad does but the almost heavy metal like sound and incredible energy that develops from this jam is something truly special. It certainly deserves its spot as a JOTY contender this year.

I voted for MD. But still, Iβm not impressed. Itβs got weak spots. Seems forced in places Not a number one seed for me. Big modern didnβt also do enough to upset even though Iβd really love to see it.

Really quite enjoy both these heavy jams. I will take the madhuvan simply because my love of both Evil Goose and Madhuvan knows no bounds.
Also side note, for those of you saying this Mad is better than GR Mad - you are delusional. GR Mad is significantly more interesting than this one.

This is a much closer vote for me than the seeding would have you believe.
MKE Madh is my #3 overall
Sterling Heights BMo is my #6 overall
Sad to see such an absolute STUNNER of a jam sentenced to death in round 2. But such is the way of JOTY.
JOTY giveth. JOTY taketh away.
Pour one out for Michigan Modern. We are always one in, one out.

I'm glad I was in Sterling Heights for this Big Modern... and that it made the cut, but this Madhuvan is a beast... and gets my vote to move on.

Closer than I expected, but Madhuvan moves on here. Peterβs eerie reverbed guitar is some of his best work of the year and really sets the tone for this spooky jam. The best part of this jam though, is how tight and locked in the band is. Once Rick latches on to Trevorβs repeating bass lick the whole band comes together to make one of their most unified and layered dark and heavy build ups.
This Big Modern has grown on the more I listen to it. Iβm particularly fond of how relaxed the band is once they reach the final 5 minutes. They have no rush and are just following the flow of the jam, in favor of rushing into Wysteria. The natural flow and patience come together to build a unique sonically calm jam. Unfortunately this is only one small section, and while the rest of jam is good, it isnβt good enough to top this full band masterpiece displayed in this Madhuvan.

I absolutely love this Big Modern, but this Madhuvan is peak 2025 Goose IMO. It's my top Madhuvan in a year full of outstanding Madhuvans.

GOATHUVAN (yes, it's better than GR too)

Going Madhuvan here. I mean, I do really love this Big Modern. It's just... this Madhuvan is mind-blowing. Every single part is awesome, and the last four minutes is, like, hall-of-fame stuff. I think it might have more raw power than any jam I've ever heard (by any band).

This mad was my #2 overall and far better and more cohesive than the GR version to my ears, easy vote

This Mad is superior to GR and wins this easily. Peter absolutely slays this dual-guitar epic

Weakest #1 vs a very mighty fall tour Mod, if it was only the GR Mod then it would be a sure thing. Voting Mod but would bet money Mad gets thru this round.

Upset special?
