I'll take the Rosewood due to the last six minutes. The Madhuvan is good but I prefer any of the others still in the tourney.

This Rosewood is my favorite jam of '25, and it appears to have the stones to take out this Madhuvan from ATL. Who knows if it can do the same next round, but I suppose we can cross that bridge when we get there. If this is its last victory, I'll sleep easy knowing that there's no real shame in being eliminated by that phenomenal Wysteria from ShOhio.

Iโm in the camp that appreciates efficiency. You could listen to the Fiddlerโs Echo sandwich & the epic FF jam that follows it in the same amount of time as this Rosewood. Itโs quite a journey in comparison. Also agree w/ Captain that it subtracts from the overall jam. Alphadhuvan for me in a lost cause.

For the enlighten many who understand the greatness of this Madhuvan - remember, lions donโt lose sleep over the opinions of sheep. Best and most dynamic Mad of the year of mads.
Side note: two favorite jams to listen to at gym.

Rosewood JOTY - it's always a pleasure to come across a 40 minute jam that keeps you engaged the literal entire time. Chuga chuga chuga chuga

Exactly what Los Feliz Ghost said below (although itโs not my
#1 for JOTY - but very close) - if you donโt know what heโs talking about, go watch a video of the stream and see how impressive it is the way they were all locked in as a unit during the middle of this masterpiece - beyond impressive and far from โboringโ.

For all those saying there is nothing in the 1st 20 minutes of the rosewood I would respectfully ask them to listen again. There is gorgeous and Inspired guitar and drum work in the first half of the song. Sure there is a bit of just groove in the middle. I guess they could have recorded a bunch of loops and let those play, but thatโs not their thing. They let it groove until they found IT and then they let er rip.

Happily voted against this over rated way too long rosewood jam. I really donโt understand the hype. Itโs not very good y'all.

This is my fave Madhuvan of the yearโฆ but this Rosewood Heartโs going all the way.

This madhuvan is my joty, does the darkness in a more fluid and cohesive way than Februaryโs offerings for me and the bliss section gave it more variety than the other mads from this year, I donโt have anything against this monster rosewood, but itโs one dimensional and accomplishes less than the mad does in half the time in my opinion ๐คทโโ๏ธ

@Los Feliz Ghost man I wish I could hear what you hear in this Rosewood jam. I've tried and tried and it's good but I just don't see what's so special about it. This is a close one for me. This Madhuvan is sneaky good, I think people might be underrating it a bit because of the tendency to compare it to other better Madhuvan jams.

โPotato jamโ, lol. Thanks, @AKA Norm. I think both of these jams are overrated. Just because a jam is long doesnโt mean itโs good.

It felt likeโฆ.
Boise Rosewood #1 JOTY. Love it, already stated previously.
Madhuvan #16. Poor jam was weird at first then lifted to basic type 1 jam then done.
Not even close.

This Rosewood is my JOTY. Epic jam....two epic jams, actually. Love it even more with each relisten.

Rosewood all the way. I have nothing against this Madhuvan, which has an excellent first dark chaos peak and then an even better second bliss peak.
But this Rosewood is my pick for JOTY and one of my favorite Goose jams of all time. I can't say enough about it. Based on the comments, it seems like some folks aren't that interested in the middle of the jam. I'm pretty much the opposite. I love how patient and locked in it is. So frequently, Goose (and every other jam band) finds a great groove only to abandon it in favor of something else. But this jam is hypnotic and compelling. And that makes it all the more satisfying when the band slowly turns their attention skyward for what turns into arguably the most jaw-dropping finale they've ever laid down. So while the end is the highlight, the whole jam is a connected, cohesive piece of music that is greater than the sum of its parts.

Can we Frankenstein the second half of Rosewood onto Madhuvan?
THAT would be the GOAT of GOATs
No?

I don't have enough time left in my life to listen the first 20 minutes of this potato jam.
The Mad is one of the few times on fall tour Peter drove the bus, and it got weird and wild. It's the better jam
But people, God love em, sure love potatoes

For 38 minutes it feels like this Rosewood should offer a little more. Donโt get me wrong I love when Goose finds an idea in a jam a rips it, but by the time they get to it the jam feels worn out and elongated. Last 10 minutes of Rosewood are awesome standalone, but loses power when paired with the rest of the jam.
This Madhuvan is a masterclass of efficiency and dynamic improv and deserves move on. I knew Boise Rosewood would have strong support but Iโm shocked to see it have such a large lead over this Madhuvan.

Madhuvan. Efficient, interesting, fun, multipart jam that you can finish and still have time to take a sh*t before the Rosewood gets to its very interesting ending
Size does not always matter. Vote Madhuvan.

Boise rosewood is something truly special, I find myself coming back to it time and time again and being blown away more each time. A hallmark moment for Goose. Hoping to push it through all the way.
I'd also like to note that the first half of the jam is spectacular. Rick adds in an extra note or two each time the jam circles back around. Its like he's slowly unfolding a pre-written/composed song one bit at a time. It's awesome and definitely on par with the 2nd half of the jam, if not better.

Sometimes you've got to just keep on playing until you find the muse. And sometimes you just don't find it, no matter how long you try. In the case of the Boise Rosewood, Goose manages to find it (and how!) but it comes after roughly 20 minutes of doing not a whole lot. I love where this jam finally ends up and if we were voting on snippets alone, I would rank the final 10-15 mins of this jam even higher. But ranking holistically, as I do, this one loses a few points.
This was a very close matchup for me in my personal rankings (my #11 vs my #14) so I gave a close head-to-head listen. And this expertly crafted Madhuvan, with nary a dull moment and visiting the full emotional spectrum across a thrilling 20 minutes, may not be the best Madh of the year but it still just eeks out the Boise Rosewood, holistically, from my standpoint.
That said... I know this Rosewood is a crowd favorite, and I would therefore assume it ultimately moves on from this round.

This Rosewood easily wins for me here. I love this Madhuvan. I was there and have listened to the ATL 2nd set a lot more than I thought I would leaving that show that night. But while people like to complain about the length this Rosewood weaves the way with a more natural stream. Itโs high seeded for a reason and see no reason why it wonโt win this fairly handily

Rosewood is a beast and perhaps a bit long, perhaps takes a bit too long to get going, but does enough cool shit for it to be a top 10 jam for me...Madhuvan OTOH has stretches that are for me unlistenable. It manages to salvage some enjoyable stuff towards the end but overall not a fan. Didn't rank it. Rosewood is solid in its own right but for me it wins by default.

Donโt love either of these versions to be honest, but nothing in this Madhuvan can compete with the final quarter of this Rosewood. Rosewood is going down after this round though.

Braids. Choker. Sleeves= not to be seen. Cornboi. A major win for Boise!

I had a tough time with this one. The rosewood is an absolute blast but definitely is too long based on where it actually goes. Mad is sick and dark and is a pretty good jam. I went rosewood because of the stance and choker Rick.
A good jam shouldnโt loose just cause itโs not long enough. Madhuvan is the winner but it wonโt.

Long live choker Rick

Voted Madhuvan knowing it will likely lose. The crowd will vote Rosewood due to the length of the jam, not the quality. It stays in the same lane for a very long time and recycles pieces of the Masonic Green River jam from a few days earlier.

If you havenโt listened to the entire 6/1 Boise show wire to wire yet, find some time to do it this weekend - one of the best shows of 2025!

I know Boisewood is a massive crowd favourite and will probably win this matchup, but I think Alpharetta Madhuvan deserves the win here!
Nothing in that jam tops the last 10 or so minutes of the Boisewood, but as a whole its time is spent much more meaningfully without a lot of wasted space in its great dual dark and blissy segments.
I had Madh ranked #13 overall and Rosewood #28, so pretty much inverse of how the seeds played out.

Braided powerstance Rick will not be denied, and the band elevated to meet him at the next level he was on that evening.
