This Red Bird I go back and listen to frequently. Rickβs tone is amazing and brings it the whole song. The ending is great too. It gets my vote.

If i could thumbs-down a post i would for Mr. "This has no business in the bracket". The Myst is awesome and given it's seeding/ranking, clearly it's beloved by many -- take your negativity elsewhere sir!
I do love this Red Bird...one of the best things to come out of an incredible MKE run...but i still voted Myst here.

This Myst is a far worse version of Miami Butter Rum. Has no business in the bracket.

I've listened to this Red Bird as much as anything this year.
This Myst is kind of Milwaukee Arrow?
But longer.
Of course it'll win for reasons?

Itβs a beautiful Bird. Just not moving on for me.

This is a tough one. I love the Red Bird and was there live, but thereβs no denying that this Myst is something special. Both will get smoked by WL next round, but these were a fun listen

I love this Myst so much, it never gets old, an absolute joy to listen to. This Red Bird is also quite good. But the Myst is the one that I'll come back to more often. Much better than the Philly Myst, to me.

yikes. Red Bird should win easily. oh well.

Both Jams are alright. Iβll go with the majestic beauty of Red Bird against the repetitive Mist. Even tho Into the Mist one of my fav songs they do.

My #21 overall (Myst) vs my #31 overall (Bird)
Love both of these and may actually even enjoy listening to the Bird a bit more--I am a Red Bird guy, after all--but Gilford Myst deserves to move onto the next
And that's even factoring in the points that should be rightly deducted due to the obnoxious Sublime tease. I can't stand Sublime

This Myst rules, just a good ol fashion upbeat dancy ride

My second favorite jam at the underloved Gilford show. This Myst is a dance party in the clouds followed by a great transition into second seeded Fish in the Sea. The Red Bird is beautiful, but I love this Myst.

The New Hampshire show was solid as granite rock. π€πΌ

This Myst is a blast... but I feel it is more than just the unique little Wrong Way/Sublime teases in the end that are giving it the upper hand in my book. Cotter's percussion work is so solid! It's light, and tight, and delicate... yet there is so much depth to it (you really need to turn it up loud and listen to all the intricacies) . In addition, the Michael Jackson/Wanna Be Startin' Something vibe that they find just turns this one into a huge dance party!
This Red Bird is beautiful (and certainly deserves a relisten today). It's soaring and majestic, and I see how it made it's way into the tournament. That said, gotta go with the Myst on this one.

+1 to Dusty Hoff's comment on 2/7 Arrow. I thought this Myst was essentially a slightly-less-exciting version of that jam (which I had ranked higher). Yet another jam that could've been on the bracket instead of... basically all the MSG jams except Thatch.

I just came here to say that the new thumbs-up feature and execution is rad. Nice job, Neal!
Much more interesting than either of these jams. Both are fine. Uninteresting match overall.

I ranked this Myst #41 and the Red Bird #61. In the moment I really liked how this red bird calmed us down with some great bliss playing after that monster Madhuvan played before it but as the year went on it has slid in my rankings.
This Myst on the other hand doesnβt do anything super crazy or unique but does sustain a really good groove throughout with some stellar bass work from Trevor. It gets my vote in this round.

Love both of these jams, but the gorgeous red bird takes it for me. Also I have to say letβs all take a second and remember 2/7 arrow, This myst gets a similar jam going but that arrow was really fun. Tragedy it didnβt make the bracket

This red bird is criminally underrated

Neither of these are particularly spectacular jams to me. Both good for sure, and definitely worth a listen, but I don't hear too much special. Red Bird gets the nudge from me because I like some of the guitar motifs/teases Rick plays. Next round please.

Easy call for me, I had Red Bird at #29 overall and the Myst fell outside my bracket. Not up there with the all time birds and overall a quiet year for the song but this is a beautiful jam worthy of making it another round!

Voting Red Bird here (my no. 36 overall) over this Myst (my no. 63 overall). Both are positive, put-a-smile-on-your-face jams from epic shows, and both were slightly overshadowed by other jams from that same show. Both were excellent and deserve to be in the bracket; but I wouldn't have had either in the second round.
The Myst was an interesting one. On the one hand, I love that the band didn't overdo it or try to cram more ideas/notes into the jam than were necessary. On the other hand, I kept waiting for the jam to shift into a higher or different gear, but it never did. I think that's why I give the Red Bird the edge here. The way it breaks down and then surprisingly builds back up is inspiring.

How is this myst the higher seed?
red bird gets so gorgeous, easy choice here.

I think I'm going for the Red Bird upset here, I really love this jam. In the end, it shouldn't even matter, either one of these jams will get smoked by the Wysteria next round and rightly so.

Not crazy about either of these jams. Super tight matchup, but this Mystβs fun and bouncy edge and beautiful segue jam into FITS gives it a slight edge over this upbeat and polished Red Bird.

I love everything about this Red Bird jam. It rolls along up the hill (nicely powered by Tweekz) and hits a pleasant peak before finding a nice quiet valley to settle into. But unlike a lot of their mid-jam downshifts, they donβt fully pivot away from the theme theyβve established but re-build it from the ground up in the same pocket. When they surge to yet an even higher peak than they previously hit, it feels like catharsis and resolution.
This Myst is a really nice party jam. I feel like there were a number of jams like this they played this year (Westville fast.slow and Milwaukee Arrow come to mind) that find a super fun theme and largely just stay with it for like 10-15 mins. And I enjoy them all. But to me it doesnβt measure up to this Red Bird.

Two awesome jams, but the best myst of the year takes it for me, love how they didnβt Goontz it

Two absolutely gorgeous jams, but I think the Myst takes the edge here.

This is my favorite Myst of '25 and I think it's under seeded...really solid Red Bird, but Myst gets my vote.

Again we have Gilford vs Milwaukee, and again I'm going Gilford. This Myst is chefskiss
