This Green River is really, really, really good. I like it a lot. Never heard it before checking out this matchup, so this is why I love JOTY- I get to discover some good, new (to me) jams that I never heard before.

I was at 2/8. I don't remember thinking this EMG was anything crazy good. But having relistened for the matchup, I do agree it is fantastic and deserving of a higher seed. Should be interesting to see it up against the 2/15 Madhuvan in a couple weeks. Voted. EMG.

Time to ruffle some feathers. This isn’t even the better EMG of the two. 2/13 had more going on and more range. EMG jams follow a fairly straight forward formula which I love but 2/8 is destined for the RR fate of 2023 and get blown out in round of 8
The GR isn’t a better jam here but it was unique for its time and deserves the votes it’s getting .

@MAMU guy - huge agree on the 2/8 Myst. That’s the biggest snub in this bracket. What a way to open the fucking show, good lord!

Green River has the "it" factor. I could see a deep run.

If we’re all being honest here the 2/8 and 2/13 EMGs are better then the 2/7 and 2/15 Madhuvans - food for thought, but may the collective will of the people be the final decision maker!

GR is really fine and, as much as I'd love to see a CCR tune move on, the EMG is too good. That synth build nails it for me.

This EMG is a good jam, but definitely overseeded. I mean all Goose jams are good, so at the #2 seed I need something that exudes greatness and this just isn't quite there for me. Many lower seeds in this division beat out this EMG. Speaking of which, this Green River is tight. Just so god damn funky, can't help but make a stank face while listening. It's like the good guy in the movie hopping in a private jet as the bad guy blows up behind him in a flaming ball of sunset orange - sailing out victoriously over the Green River. Give me it in this one, underdog.

My friend who was at the 2/8 show with me texted this, "I can understand someone picking EMG for the jam of the year but I'm not sure it would be in my top two for the *set*." (Myst and Modern of course)

This Green River is insanely underrated

i love this EMG but I want the 2/13 one to win. and this green river got me off the couch on 5/27! so it is getting my vote.

So this EMG absolutely deserves all the praise - JOTY worthy for sure. BUT... this GR is an absolute monster and one of my "favorite" performances of 2025. Watching this live on Nugs my jaw hit the floor about 2 min into the jam. Tough matchup but EMG is going the distance.

Respect to that Green River, its GOOD. But it just can't compete with EMG.

Full respect to an inspired Green River that was a highlight of that tour, but this EMG is headed for the ‘ship…

EMG will likely get my vote in future rounds, but I feel that GR should have been seeded higher, so GR gets my vote this round knowing it will be destroyed by EMG.

Pity vote for GR here. EMG will get plenty of votes and doesn't need mine. GR is a good example of why i listen to Goose - unexpected jams and great exploration of a CCR classic. One of my most re-listened to tracks of 2025. It's no match for this EMG which has a legion of fans but pour one out for the little engine that could: Green River.
Shortest jam in the bracket (i think) but also the most fun.

Despite this probably being the best version of Green River they’ve played… I struggle to fully get on board with “Classic Rock Goose”. An easy win for this EMG… that could've/should've easily been a “1 Seed”.

Great Green River and will be a frequent beach / summer cover / jam I'll play, but this EMG is probably the JOTY when it's all said and done - loved being able to listen to these both again today despite knowing it's going to be a steamroll for EMG in this one!

The Green River is nice…real nice…but the EMG is special. No contest…EMG by a million.

While this Green River is a really good listen, it doesn't stand a chance against the GOAT EMG. Sorry buddy. Better luck next year. 👍

(this Green River was an absolutely sick surprise jammer in SF and is maaaaybe the most locked in Trevor and Cotter have ever been)

Going with EMG here because duh. It's a 1-seed in my book. (I have it ranked much higher than Westville AIN, for example.) It's a shame that both this jam and GR Madhuvan can't be in the final four. But we'll have plenty of time to talk about this masterpiece later.

I personally don't think this Green River should've made the bracket given some of the jams left off (e.g., Hulaween Tumble, MKE Empress). But it's a good jam and it's not out of place. I don't know why the AATGPod guys were so dismissive of it given some of the fluff in the bracket from MSG and the I-can't-tell-the-difference-between-them Goontz jams. (Man I sound so curmudgeonly.) This jam is thematic and patient, and it really grooves. Not every jam needs to try to do everything everywhere all at once.

This EMG is outstanding and my #2 JOTY. It should knock out Myst in the next round and eventually have a close, tough matchup vs the GR Madhuvan in the final 8.

I love that this Green River made the bracket, but this EMG is a beast.

The insanity of the GR jam, esp from the 11' mark.... while EMG here is really pretty, the pure jam and the absolute banging drums in GR is mind blowing. Gotta go with GR on this.

SF Green River under-seeded at #15 (shocker) but this EMG is a monster, maybe the best one they played all year. Relistening, I hear several themes in Green River they expanded upon in the Boise Rosewood, and while a fantastic song its own right, I rate SF Dustin higher and this EMG sails thru to beat Toronto EoA in the next round.
