Best Tumble of the year against another early in the year ho hum Drive that nobody remembers?

I voted for this Tumble but it was not the best Tumble from 2025.

Love this Drive. Seems like we will be saying goodbye to this soon.

Yeah, this Tumble is special. Drive ain't too shabby, but no match here.

Northerly Tumble is seeded a little high in my opinion but it's a joy to listen to, even if we've kind of heard it before or whatever. Great jam and deserves a high seed! (even if not quite this high)
This late-first-set Drive is the moment when Goose really started cooking in Milwaukee. Love it how for the third year in a row they fully obliterated Drive during the first (normal non-festival) show of the year. This one doesn't quite live up to the legend of Cap '23 and Cap '24 Drives but it's much mightier than a mere footnote. Alas, it finds itself outmatched when put up against Northerly Tumble.

This Tumble is incredible, knocking it because it sounds like another jam last year isn’t fair. Lots of goose jams are recycled, look at Gifford Rockdale and MSG Thatch for example. Goose can do amazing things with familiar ideas as is the case in this Tumble.

Derivative or not, I really, really love this Tumble and it’s getting my vote. I also really love this Drive and in the room that night it absolutely fucked me sideways! The last five minutes of this jam is sensational. Whatever happens this round I won’t be upset.

Despite losing (my bracket) to the incredible and underrated Hungersite, Drive wins my vote - not that it matters lol

Call it “Tumble Fatigue”, but I’m not as geeked about this version from Chicago as I probably should be for a Number 2 Seed. I listened to it again this morning coming into work, and it absolutely rips… yet I don’t seem to have much of an opinion on it one way or another, and nothing about it has ever been memorable for me.
I’m equally impartial on this Drive from Milwaukee, and didn’t even have it in my top 64. They find a great groove (even after Rick flubs the last two lines of the first verse), but kinda stay in that lane the entire time. I feel that it is similar to the shorter version from Grand Rapids a week later, but never finds that heat that they find in the GR version with the whole Ghostbusters thing that happens.
I’ll be very interested in seeing the likely Tumble/EMG match-up next round, as there appears to be a lot of love for both of them.

Would've liked 06/22 Hungersite here, but alas I propose to take a stumble and a spill here!

Oddly enough, in my own bracket I had both of these losing last round (sorry that 15 seeded Echo was just too much fun).
This might be the first time this bracket that I have to listen freshly to the songs to decide

I'm with @6R0M7. Same thoughts

I struggled with this one before ultimately deciding to vote against my own 1-64 rankings that had Tumble (best of the year by a country mile) a few notches ahead of Drive.
This isn't deep musical analysis, but it's all I've got: Head-to-head, this Drive simply does more for me and takes me more places.
I do very much love the blissy section of this Tumble, a cut/paste of the same section from 2024's JOTY winner. I don't knock jams for being derivative (this Drive is as well), but I'd say that the Tumble is both derivative of AND less strong than Philly's Tumble. (Nevermind that this bliss segment is better achieved in last year's Wys, Raleigh Pancakes, etc.)
Either gets disembowled next round. Bring on the Sweet Sixteen.

I love this Tumble. The world could use more bliss these days and this one delivers in spades.

I like the drive more by a large margin but the people demand bliss

Drive

I frankly don't get the love for the Tumble. Kind of a mish mash of stuff they have done better elsewhere (,bliss is just Raleigh Cakes or Portland Wys warmed over).
Drive is a unique patient mix of brooding darkness and glimpses of sunlight with Cotter in propulsive beast mode after the turn. One of my consistently favorite relistens this year.
But I think it's more of a grower and less flashy so it probably loses here.

Agree w/ WH, best Tumble of ‘25.

This Drive was one of my favorites from the year and I'm pretty sure I had it ranked higher than most (#7 overall), but unforunately I think I have to go Tumble here. I keep wishing I had ranked it higher each time I give it a listen. This is a great matchup

Mountain Jam Hungersite deserved better

This Tumble is gorgeous.

Best Tumble of the year. Beautiful bliss peak. fantastic frenetic whatever jamming they did right after. Chicago show front to back is amazing.

Dont have a very good reason to not go Tumble here, despite how fine this Drive was! But I still voted Drive, assuming I will be in the minority
