One of the harder votes of the tournament for me. This Atlas Dog fuckin rules!! Super fun dance part and they get right into it. Awesome. Unfortunately it didn't do enough to edge what I think is the GOAT Everything Must Go.

EMG clears here, but barely.

This is WAY too close. The Atlas Dogs is cool, I dig it, but c'mon.

This has to be one of the greatest Dogs! Had a little Money for Nothin sound in the middle which I would love to see them cover. Can’t vote against this rock solid EMG tho - sorry dawg

This Atlas Dogs is one of my personal favorites of the year….however this EMG is truly one of the most powerful jams I’ve heard by any band - not just Goose. It wouldn’t shock me if this EMG went to the final four, or even took home the trophy - it’s that good, and I think the more people listen to it in this tournament the better sleeper potential it has to be a spirited dark horse 2025 JOTY champion!

Completely separate note - my dad passed away in his hospital bed sometime while they were playing this in real time on 2/13/25, so it’s taken on extra meaning to me in a very trippy way given the context of the song itself, and the stunningly haunting jam that was being played while he moved into the afterlife - deep stuff, but since he’s the reason I have a passion for music / rock n roll, it couldn’t have been more fitting!

The second half of this EMG is one of my favorite things from the year. Fell below my radar for a while but ended in my top jams when putting together my bracket, could be a JOTY candidate for sure. Keep coming back to this one.

This EMG is an absolute UNIT of a jam. Most certainly JOTY worthy, and I can't praise it enough. I like this Atlas Dogs, and I generally like goontz as well, but this one just can't compete with the grandiosity of the EMG.

This pair up broke my heart. My favorite Goose tune is Atlas Dogs, I so badly want to vote for it but its hard to deny the greatness of this EMG. Head over heart on this vote. But this Atlas Dogs is on my favorites playlist

This Atlas Dogs is great, but because it was part of that Rockdale>Atlas Dogs>Rockdale sandwich… I didn't have it in my top 64. I suppose it's “allowed”... given that it's the middle part, I've just never listened to it on its own. On a side note… this 9/14 Burlington show is criminally underrated, and might as well be called “The Deli Show” or the "Jimmy John's Show" or something corny like that with the above mentioned Rockdale sandwich, the Thatch>TOS>Thatch sandwich, and the Tumble>Shama>Tumble sandwich as well. Tons of Cotter tunes this night, an incredible Arrow, one of only two Travelers of ‘25 (and the only one without the rest of the Autumn Crossing Suite), an Atlas with guests on horns, etc…

While I don't have this Atlas Dogs beating this JOTY-worthy EMG… this show itself is phenomenal.

EMG all the way. Once again, I'd like to propose a separate "Goontz" bracket for next year. This Atlas Dogs is super fun, but it just feels odd pitting the Goontz jams (which are all more or less variations of one type of jam) against the varied jams that fill out the rest of the bracket. Not a knock. Goontz is a blast live and I think it's great that the band added it to the repertoire this year.

This EMG, man. It's 100% my favorite jam in this region, and I hope it makes it to the final four. But we'll have time to discuss it later for sure.

Choosing this banger 14 seed I didn’t attend over the 3 seed I did attend.

I originally didn't give this EMG its proper due because "there's no way it's as good as Milwaukee" but it turns out it's damn close. Like a lot of other February jams (2/15 Big Modern) it grew on me over time and just kept moving up my list. Ended as my #4 jam of the year (MKE EMG is #1).

If you haven't dug into this one properly with headphones, do so before it matches up with Chicago Tumble in a couple rounds. I have attendance bias and a lot of love for the Tumble and will be voting for this EMG.

I witnessed the Atlas jam as well and that entire night was just a great time, however, this EMG is superior. I'd love to see the upset but it ain't gonna happen.

Best EMG of the year I will not hear otherwise. And the last truly unique and good jammed out version before album version and e drums took over :/

This EMG is fantastic, but I rate Milwaukee a bit higher.. however, this Atlas Dogs.. HOLY F yall, this is a special one. GOONTZ Dogs for the upset!
